Outreach & Scholarships
AIR has four major avenues for reaching the community and providing support services, which are:
AIR Scholarship Fund
Program Budget $120,000
AIR Scholarship funds seek to supplement & offset the cost of mental health and/or substance abuse treatment for those whom otherwise could not afford such services. $10,000 a month is allotted to outpatient treatment services. For more information about scholarships please contact us.
AIR Community Support Program
Program Budget $30,000
1) Staff facilitated weekend activities fostering a safe environment conducive to recovery. Weekends are a vulnerable time for youth to engage in self-destructive behaviors, thus AIR provides a healthy alternative.
2) Support group meetings for parents, youth, and adults on Wednesday and Thursday evenings as well as Saturday mornings.
3) Two annual retreats that focus on the 12-step process, relationships, and the building of strong families and communities.
AIR Satellite Program
Program Budget $15,000
The AIR Satellite program is an after-school program in the Katy/West Houston area that is designed for adolescents and young adults to have a safe harbor for recovery. It is open Monday through Friday 2:30pm to 6:30 pm. The Satellite offers mentoring year round as well as study groups and tutoring during the school year.
AIR Educational Outreach Program
Program Budget $12,000
AIR offers mental health & substance abuse education to HISD and Katy ISD in the form of clinical in-services, educational presentations and intervention consultation. AIR also provides support services to these districts' students. AIR makes presentations to local churches and other organizations desiring to be educated on said topics. AIR publishes a monthly newsletter that provides accurate information related to mental health & substance abuse challenges as well as personal stories of hope.
